This is going to be a very short post today, but I think it is an important one that will hopefully dispel an assumption that could be a barrier to organizations embracing Surface Hubs. The assumption is that an organization-wide deployment of Intune is required to properly manage Surface Hubs.

I know this is an assumption because not only was this assumption being made by an old co-workers CIO, but also my own organization had mentioned this in a few initial briefs around a potential Surface Hub deployment.

Fact: The Microsoft Team Room (MTR) license that is required for the Surface Hub 2 includes Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online and Intune licenses. This enables organizations to deploy and manage Surface Hubs without licensing the entire organization and / or solidifying on Intune as your MDM.
